As we now find ourselves in March we can start to think about our plans for the summer, and our spring/summer wardrobe is something that also needs to be equally well planned out. As we saw on the catwalks of the Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Weeks back in November, from Celine to Hugo Boss, all the top designers were showcasing the best colours to wear this season, as well as the re-emergence of colour blocking looks. With new arrivals every week at Serena, were ready to provide you with the best fashion has to offer. As featured on our Ireland AM slot (link to the video is below), at Serena we have a variety of vibrant looks to inject colour into your wardrobe with some stylish, on-trend looks for this year. One of our collections causing a lot of buzz this season is Irish collection, FeeG. A look in particular we love for the colour blocking trend is this bardot top with a printed skirt combo. The vibrant blue combined with the strong white print creates an eye catching look perfect to combine with green shoes or a green handbag, or even using red accessories as seen on the Balenciaga runway, to achieve the contrasting look.
If the idea of coming up with the distinct colours to achieve this look seems a bit daunting to some, the following Marc O’ Polo dress does that for you. With gorgeous tones of red, navy, light blue, pink and white combined to create a feast of colours in a simple shift dress perfect to dresscup with heels, or dress down with plimsoles or runners as done in the picture below.
Another popular colour for this season is yellow. Pastel or bold, yellow was seen on all the runways, and on the likes of Beyonce. A particular favourite in Serena is this yellow dress, featured below, from our Aideen Bodkin collection that beautifully executes this style. Continuing with the colour-blocking trend, our gorgeous Beaumont yellow trench coat, as seen in our Ireland AM feature, has a brightening impact on any outfit, and keeps you covered for the not-so-summery days of the unpredictable Irish weather.
Not only do we have this colour-blocking trend in our clothing, but also in our accessories. The stunning guess collection, in our Sandymount and Blackrock branches, contains an array of brightly coloured, eye catching handbags, big or small, to pair up with any look to co ordinate or simply add some hot spring/summer tones to your look.
If you still feel bold colours aren’t for you, an extremely popular colour for this season is pale pink, featured frequently in our stunning I-say collection, which is available in all stores and currently in the window of our Sandymount store.
